How to dress for… a tall shape!

Create horizontal lines across your body to help diffuse your height. Do this by using opposite colours - try neutral tones against brighter colours. Also, wear floor-skimming maxi skirts and dresses to really show off your height.

Look for big bold patterns in tops and dresses, because smaller, dainty prints may get lost on you. Break the pattern up with a bright waist-cinching belt, which will also show off your curves.

How to dress for… a pear shape!

The pear body shape is the classic feminine silhouette, with hips, thighs or bum that are bigger than the upper half. OK, so sometimes your bum might sometimes ‘look big in this’, but chances are you have slim shoulders and great boobs.

Show off your slim top half with strapless and halterneck dresses. Draw attention to your top half with dark colours on your bottom half and colourful brights towards your great upper half.

How to dress for…an apple shape!

Of all the fruit in the fashion basket, the apple, with its tummy and big bust, can be one of the most difficult to dress. Luckily you also often benefit from slim hips, a great bum and lovely legs!

So, draw attention to your favourite bits - that cleavage with v-necklines, use wrap-dresses to nicely sculpt over your bust, with a side tie to draw attention away from the middle. Don’t hide in baggy trousers, show off your legs too!

How to dress for…a petite shape!

petite body shape doesn’t just mean ‘short’; it can also mean that you are slight all over. A high waistline on skirts and dresses will work well for you - skater dresses are your friend. Draw attention to the waist with a belt.

Draw attention to the top half of your body with stripes and patterns. Block colours on the bottom half will elongate your figure, and show off those legs!

How to dress for… an hourglass shape!

With its balanced proportions and feminine waist, the hourglass is often upheld as the ideal female shape.

A peplum detail on a dress or top creates a line down from the waistline to the hip, which will exaggerate your curvy hips. Show off your curves with body-con dresses which skim your curves and show off your waistline.

Avoid smock dresses which will hide your lovely curves!
