How To: Frighteningly Good Bloody Talons
If you want to create some scarily good nail art this Halloween then follow this step by step guide to get yourself some blood dripping fingertips.
- Step 1: Paint your nails with a base colour of your choice, preferably a light-ish colour.
- Step 2: Dip a bobby pin into red nail varnish and then apply an uneven coat to the tips of your nails to create a blood dripping effect.
- Step 3: Then apply a lighter red varnish on top to create a more bloody effect.
- Step 4: Apply a top coat so it lasts longer and adds a finishing shine.
These look really effective and will add a frightening finish to any costume!

How To: Gruesome Nail Art
Gruesome drip nail art…not for the faint-hearted. This design works well with all nail colours but for a Halloween spin we opted for a classic black and gruesome green – a red would work bloody well too though!
Want to know how to get this ? First of all, paint your base. Then using the drip colour, overload the brush with the polish until it is ready to drip and let it drip its way down your nail. Repeat a few times per nail and try different amounts of drips of polish per nail for a realistic look.

How to: Moustache Nail Art!
Cute as a button, our favourite nail art that is trending right now: Moustache Nail Art! Wear dressed up with a cute Peter Pan collar dress in the evening or team with a moustache tee during the day! Want to know how to? Read on to find out!
What you will need:
- boohoo black polish
- A nail polish in a different colour,
- A fine nail art brush
- A steady hand
How To:
- Paint your nails black leaving out your ring finger.
- Paint the ring finger in a colour of your choice – we’ve opted for white for a monochrome palette.
- Dip the nail art brush into the black polish and start drawing on the moustache – we did an internet search of a moustache to get it just right!
Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Nail it - with nail wraps in preparation for LFW!
To match the hottest print of the season, we opted for some dogtooth nail transfers - check out our range of nail varnish and nail wraps at boohoo!
HOW TO
STEP 1: Remove any nail polish and shape and file the nails.
STEP 2: Apply your chosen base colour. We like to do 2 layers so the colour is really bold.
STEP 3: Cut the nail transfers to fit each of your nails.
STEP 4: Doing one nail at a time, soak the nail transfer in warm water for roughly 15 seconds. Dab dry with a tissue and then slide the transfer off the white paper back and apply to nail.
STEP 5: Apply 2-3 layers of top coat.
Perfect!

- Glitter polish
- Black nail art pen
- White nail art pen
- Small gems (from a craft shop)

Go crazy for zig zags this season and embrace the Aztec print. The perfect print for summer holidays ahead, why not clash prints and opt for Aztec-inspired nail art too! Our favourite nail blogger, Emma from Boom Nails has put together a nail tutorial for one of our favourite trends of the season, Aztec Prints so that you can get the look too. Over to Emma…
- Do a base coat
- Paint your base colour. You can choose any colour for this design - I went for mainly white, with one purple nail and one green nail on each hand
- Get hold of a black nail art pen. Start with a row of triangles. I did the outlines first, then filled them all in
- Draw a row of short verticle lines underneath your triangles
- Do a zig zag line across the tip of your nail. Then copy the same line a bit below it
- Draw a line of dashes
- FIll in the last bit of free space on your nail with a zig zag, and put some little mini dots in the gaps
- Repeat these same patterns on your other nails. Change up the order and add in some of your own patterns too if you like!
- Finish with a really good top coat, like Seche Vite
