Dress like you’re in Mad Men. That was the theme for Friday’s screening of The Secretary, held in an abandoned office block in Manchester.  

The first in a series of Film nights, set up by Onwards Events. Each month they will be holding screenings of cult films from Clueless to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, these nights will be held in suitable venues according to the films theme, fancy dress, is of course preferred. Simply called, The Film Night, this was an amazing night and, like the Oscars, everyone made an effort! From the girls in their dresses and two pieces to the guys in their suits and fedoras.

As the clock struck 6, we donned our pencil skirts, applied our red lipstick and headed out for a retro night of film fun! As the popcorn was served and the lights went down, the excitement was evident, as the crowd in the packed office settled down to watch the first in the series of cult movies. The night was a great success, and it wasn’t over yet!  As we all headed over to the after party.

The topic on everyone’s lips…. ‘When and what will the next movie be?!’
