Blogger Emma Lucey from Spin Dizzy Fall talks us through how to take your boho summer style through to the cooler months.
For all you candles burners, you day dreamers, you tea drinkers, you wanderlust-ers – you don’t have to hang up your fringe and put your style on hold when the cooler months start creeping in.
I’m the first to admit that my style has some serious traveller tendencies. Even when attending events, watching runway shows or going to meetings amongst the hustle and bustle of the city, the boho fever can’t be extinguished. It’s the balance between floaty & neat that I like to achieve – even though they may not seem to go together, the subjects of recent street style snaps emerging from the northern hemisphere fashion weeks seem to prove it to be possible. Over past few months I have seen multiple babes expressing their city hippy style and not resorting to easy skinny jeans & blazers … it’s not the only option! Here are a few helpful hints to help maintain your dreamy, down to earth style from summer to winter.
Think a flowing split-side maxi in cooler tones or even with an oversized floral print. Pair that with a slouchy knit and wide brim hat for ultimate chill factor (not literally – you’ll be super snuggly if you sneak some stockings underneath your maxi).
Contrast with Jackets
Co-ordinates are still killing it! A cute little lace or textured two-piece is always fun – you shouldn’t have to give these up just because it’s colder! Pair your co-ordinates with a biker jacket to give your look a bit of an edge & make your look winter-worthy.
Long sleeve playsuits
We all know playsuits are perfect for a night out! A long sleeve design will keep you warm if you pair it with the right shoes. Invest in some over-the-knee boots – they’re the latest trend in footwear and will serve you well all winter! Alternatively, thigh high socks are back in a big way & will keep your knees cosy.
Let’s not kid ourselves though! Everyone has those days when all you want to do is get in your comfy jeans instead of getting your lovely dress wet in the winter puddles. When it comes to boho style, accessories are your best friend! Pull out your fringed handbag, your chunky knit scarf and layer up your fingers & wrists with gorgeous jewels.
And at the end of the day you can always go back to your nest … I mean bed, and snuggle up in your onesie to light candles, drink tea & dream some more.
