Nail tutorial inspired by our latest collections on boohoo.com
The fab Nail artist over at Boom Nails has created some nail tutorials based on the patterns, shapes and colours of Boohoo’s gorgeous collections, inspired by our Decades and Oxford Blues collections (available from Jan 30th).
Emma - take it away!
The first nail tutorial I’m going to show you is based around this gorgeous collection including pink hues, polka dots and creams.

STEP ONE: Base coat. Always do a basecoat! I used Orly Bonder Rubberised.

STEP TWO: Two coats of white nail varnish. It’s okay for the first coat to be quite thin, as the second coat will even everything out. I used Revlon - White On White.
STEP THREE: Do the outlines of the collars! As you can see from the picture - they’re just little triangles at the tip of the nail. For this bit, get your hands on a black nail art pen.
STEP FOUR: Fill in your collars!
STEP FIVE: Polka dot your collars with a white nail art pen - or with a toothpick and white nail varnish, if that’s how you roll! Make sure the collars are completely dry before you do this (as otherwise the tiny polka dots might bleed). Make the dots as small as you can!
STEP SIX: Pink half moons! I chose pink for these, to match the shorts that the model is wearing with the top. You could choose another colour if you like, or do it to match your own outfit. Half moons are pretty simple to do - just paint a crescent shape at the bottom on your nail, and fill it in. I used a pink nail art pen.
FINITO! Now you’re done. Hopefully you have something which looks a little like the picture above. Hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorial, let me know what you think on

Last night was the national television awards and the stars took to the red carpet in all their glory. It was an evening filled with glitter, tans and, of course fashion faux pas amongst the otherwise glamorous crowd.
Tulisa came in a hot pink ambre feather dress. Teamed with a tan fresh from her recent holiday, she certainly stood out but didn’t quite win in the fashion stakes! Lauren Goodger was another miss. She gained attention for all the wrong reasons as she poured her curves into a (very) tight silver low cut maxi dress. While Laura Whitmore chose the right dress (Stella McCartney SS 12) but failed to hit the mark.
Jorgie Porter, Fern Cotton and Michelle Keegan went for understated glamour. Fern rocked the 1930s trend in a short embellished silver dress looking equally cool and glamorous, while Jorgie Porter showed off her svelte figure in a floor length burgundy dress with cut outs in the perfect places to enhance her slim waist. The gorgeous Michelle Keegan wowed the crowds in a sophisticated nude embellished gown proving to be a true soap princess.
Cameron Diaz dazzles in beautiful cream lace at the Paris Fashion Week, seen here after the Valentino show. Stay ahead of the trends this SS/12 and bag yourself some lovely lace.
